Yxi's Arepas & The Chef Gordito is the Venezuelan / Mexican street food collaboration of long-time friends Yxi Ojeda and Agustin Vivanco (Zocalo). A popular dish in Venezuela and Latinoamerica, arepas are cornmeal cakes cooked on an open flattop grill to be the perfect consistency of a slightly crispy outer shell with a warm, moist inner dough that can then be filled with a variety of savory fillings including carnitas, reina pepeada (avocado chicken salad), black beans, fried sweet plantains, fresh cheese, etc. Made from family recipes with love, Yxi's Arepas is the perfect hand-held dish whether you're on the go, at a festival or catering an event.

The best Venezuelan food in all of New York! Hands down, this food truck is a hidden gem. Every dish has that authentic, traditional flavor that transports you straight to Venezuela from the very first bite—it tastes exactly like home, true to its roots without losing any of its original essence. The customer service is excellent, and you can really tell the ingredients are top quality. Highly recommended! If you're in New York and want to try real Venezuelan food, this spot is a absolute must-visit. 🇻🇪🔥

First thing, it’s all 100% gluten free! Thank you! It is excellent comfort food. No heavily processed garbage, just natural ingredients prepared in a traditional way. The portions are sizable and the prices reflect the quantity and quality but not overpriced. Yummy for all ages. Check them out.

I love having Yxi’s food truck in town. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The owners and employees are kind and community oriented. I don’t know of anywhere else in town serving fresh arepas! The papas Monterrey with carnitas is my favorite comfort dinner on the go :) love visiting Yxi’s for takeout or to sit at picnic tables by the inlet on nice weather days. Wholeheartedly recommend.
